How to register for the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Kenya

To register with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Kenya, you can:

  1. Go to the TSC website and select the Online Services tab 
  2. Enter your ID number or passport number 
  3. Enter your surname 
  4. Enter your mobile number 
  5. Select the category you are applying for 
  6. Scan and upload the required documents 
  7. Pay the non-refundable fee 

The required documents include:

  • Certified copies of academic and professional certificates
  • National identity card
  • Bank slip
  • One passport size photo
  • KRA pin
  • GP69 form
  • Certificate of good conduct
  • Entry and work permits for non-Kenyans 

The fee for new registration is Kshs. 1050/- and for duplicate certificate application it is Kshs. 2050/-. You can pay the fee using E-Citizen government payment methods, including MPesa, Airtel Money, KCB Cash, Equity Cash, and E-Agent. 

You can check the status of your registration by entering your ID or passport number on the TSC website. 

It is illegal to work as a teacher in Kenya without being registered with the TSC. Providing false information to the TSC is a serious offense and can result in a fine of up to Ksh 100,000, imprisonment for 12 months, or both
